My first trip as a certificated pilot!
I took Heatherle, Matti, and Audrey down the Willamette valley this morning to Independence OR (7S5), which sounded kind of fitting for the trip, then over to the east side of the Willamette valley and north.
We flew up the east side of the Willamette Valley, over Oregon City, Gladstone, and our neighborhood.
After flying over our neighborhood, we followed I-205 west, and then continued on to Twin Oaks.
It was a simple trip, but a great first trip with the family. What could be better?
A few pictures from the trip including; Matti, Audrey, Heatherle, Independance OR, our neighborhood, and final for runway 02 at Twin Oaks.

Audrey also had a chance to enjoy another of the offerings at Twin Oaks; the swing.

Hi Steve ~ Purple Board; AOPA Board ... where should I say congrats??! Saw it was lonely here in your blog comments and decided here it shall be ~ so ~ congratulations!
Bet Mr. Bement is beaming for you too. I'm a little late in reading the news; so you're a veteran now :-) Great photos of your 1st flight w/the family - wonderful write-up of the checkride experience.
I got to go up with a friend in his 182 yesterday for a short flight to the coast out of 069. He showed me how to pre-flight; talked me through our flight so that some of the GS stuff could be given more meaning. Still sitting here reading your checkride description and going "how in the world am I ever????"
But if I want to enough I will - and I do. Studying the GS, going to a Cessna pilot gathering in Spearfish S.D. end of this month; my 1st flight lesson in July.
So "See Steve Fly" Fly Steve Fly indeed!
Congratulations again, and thanks for the timely inspiration.
Susan
